Hearing Aids
At AudioLogic Hearing we fit the latest hearing device technology from a range of leading manufacturers
and provide our clients with a personalised service, ongoing care and support.
Hearing aid technology has significantly improved over time and are now fully digital, fully automatic, rechargeable, Bluetooth compatible, available in different styles and colours and have various features to monitor feedback (whistling), improve speech clarity, increase listening comfort and decrease background noise.
The Audiologist will discuss the various options with you and together a hearing device will be selected based on your hearing loss, communication needs, lifestyle and personal preferences.
The Audiologist will ensure your hearing needs are being met and that you are receiving the maximum benefit from your hearing devices.
Behind-The-Ear (BTE)
hearing aids consist of a hard plastic case worn
behind the ear, connected to a separate ear mould
or thin tube and a soft silicone dome or mould
that fits inside the outer ear and directs sound
into the ear canal. Parts are held in the case
behind the ear. Behind-The-Ear hearing aids can be
the most powerful and often are the easiest type
to adjust.
Open Fit
hearing aids are very small Behind-The-Ear style
devices connected to a thin sound tube and dome or
small mould. This style allows the ear canal to be
as open as possible facilitating a more natural
sound and reducing the occlusion effect (blocked
up feeling).
The Open Fit is recommended when
the hearing is normal or mild in the low
frequencies.
Receiver-In-The-Ear (RITE/RIC)
A combination of BTE and ITE. The main components
of the system sit behind the ear and looks like a
BTE.
The receiver (speaker) sits in the ear
canal at the end of the sound tube allowing for
the BTE component to be smaller.
Lyric
the world’s first 100% invisible extended wear hearing device.
It is comfortably placed deep in the ear canal, delivering
exceptional sound quality by working with your ear’s natural anatomy.
Lyric can be worn 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for months at a time.
It is soft, comes in different sizes, and conforms comfortably to your ear canal.
Deep Fit CIC/IIC
hearing aids are the smallest
Completely-In-The-Canal (CIC) hearing aids also
called Invisible-In-The-Canal (IIC), which are
placed in the bony part of the outer ear canal
allowing for the most discreet style of hearing
aid currently on the market. The deep fit CIC will
help mild to moderate hearing losses.
Completely-In-The-Canal (CIC)
hearing aids are custom made to fit inside your
ear canal and can assist mild to moderate hearing
loss in adults. Though these hearing aids are the
smallest and least visible of the available
styles, they do offer limited features and
controls compared to other styles.
In The Ear (ITE/ITC)
hearing aids fit completely inside the outer ear
and are used for mild to severe hearing loss.
